Design Protection
You shouldn't have to compete against your own artwork on the shelf down the street. When you order a design, we hold it for your area so the shop next door can't carry the same thing.
Applies to wholesale orders. Retail orders are not affected.
Three levels of protection
Zip Code Protection
Your zip code, 90 days at a time
Order a design and it becomes yours locally. Other wholesale customers shipping to the same zip code can't order that design, or any product that uses it, while your protection window is open.
Included with every wholesale order. Nothing to request.
Extended Protection
Site-wide, one full year
For designs we created together with you. The design won't appear on anyone else's storefront and no one else can order it. The clock starts when you next take delivery.
One hundred dollars, one time. Request it from your account portal and our team follows up with payment details.
Permanent Ownership
Site-wide, no expiration
Typically for a design we've created exclusively for a single shop. The design is fully removed from the storefront and the owning customer is the only one who can order it.

How the Window Works
Zip code protection runs on your ordering rhythm. There is nothing to file and nothing to renew by hand.
Order confirmed
Protection reserves the moment your order is confirmed. The design, and every product that uses it, is held for the zip code the order ships to.
Order ships
Your 90-day protection window starts counting when the order leaves our shop in Missoula.
Reorder to renew
The window resets to a full 90 days each time you take a fresh delivery of the design. Keep reordering and it stays yours locally.

Blocked from ordering a design?
We can almost always find a way forward. Get in touch and we'll either let you know when the current protection lapses, or work with you to design something sufficiently different for your area so you're not competing on the same artwork.
Generic designs are never protected
Stock sports logos, public-domain artwork, state outlines, and similar widely available pieces are marked as generic. They're free for any customer to order at any time.
